What are the noises coming from your brake pedal?

posted on
Q: I have a 2009 Volkswagon Passat sedan and I'm getting a slight hissing noise from my brake pedal, but it seems to go away when pressed in. What could it be? - Jeff A: Jeff,  With a Volkswagon Passat, the hissing noise is usually caused by a bad diaphragm in the master cylinder and you will most likely need a brake master cylinder. Rotten Egg Smell?

Q: I drive a 2006 Chevy Silverado and just a few days ago I've started smelling a rotten egg smell while I am driving. Q: I am starting to have a problem turning my key in my ignition. Does the fact that I have multiple keys and keychains on my car keys have anything to do with that? - Sally A: Dear Sally, Yes, having multiple items attached to your car key will start to cause problems with your ignition switch. It can cause premature failure of the tumblers, which are an internal part of the ignition. We here at Tire Pros recommend removing the excess weight so it doesn't ruin the switch.
